Why Don't I See My Business on Google Maps?

Many business owners experience this, but here's the good news: It doesn't mean your customers don't see your listing.

Google personalizes search results based on various signals, such as your location, search history, and online behavior. Because you're often logged into your Google account, manage your business listing, and frequently visit your own website, Google assumes you're already familiar with your business. As a result, it may filter out your listing from your personal search results to reduce redundancy.

How to View What Customers See

To get a more accurate view of what a typical user might see when searching for your business:

  • Open an Incognito or Private Browsing window.
  • Clear your history and cookies before looking up your company.
  • Search for your company on a different device.
  • Make sure you're not logged into your Google account.
  • Simulate a search from your target location using tools like ISearchFrom.com or BrightLocal’s Local Search Results Checker.
